Guernsey 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black
Motorway MPG 4.2 Supercharged

Hi all,

Just a couple of quick questions - What kind of MPG should i be looking at in my 06 4.2 SC. Doing a 350 mile trip from Guernsey to Newcastle at the begining of next month and trying to calculate costs etc. Probably will be 80-90ish all motorway miles.

Also, how many miles can I expect to do on a full tank of Petrol?

Cheers
Lee

When I fill my RRS 06 4.2 SC it says range 290 miles, but after 15 mins on the motorway it rises to about 340 miles.

Somerset to South of France every year - average about 17 mpg at steady 80 to 90 mph. £450 to £500 petrol costs round trip. 06 RRS 4.2 SC.

200 miles trip to Manchester at average of 65mph (average for whole trip ! so some 90, some 50 etc) 18.5mpg to 19mpg

I've had mine de-carboned using the Terraclean system and now get 1.5 to 2mpg more, and a bit more power  RR Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange 4.2 V8 First edition

Prefer RR Vouge S/C but they don't do Orange !

OMG! And I cringe when dash says 450 miles of range on full tank. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜

I regularly do South coast to Bolton round trip and find I can get 22.5mpg if I stick to 70 most of the time.. prolonged time at 80 will see it drop to around 18mpg..manage to see 400plus out of a tank Thumbs Up Carl

When I bought mine I had to drive it home on the m6. Whilst the traffic was flowing I was seeing an indicated 22mpg but as usual on the m6 doesn't flow for long. The car said it averaged 18 over the whole trip.

never really worried about mpg, its a 4.2 so aint gonna give sensible mpg, best ive seen is 23 mpg using cruise control on the motorway.

but since its a S/C, we don't drive it at a constant 56, or even 70mph, if we did, we'd have bought a diesel !!  RR Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange 4.2 V8 First edition

Prefer RR Vouge S/C but they don't do Orange !

Best I got doing 70 mph on the motorway is 20 mpg using 95 octane petrol however I have since increased this by using Shell Optimax it went to 23.5 mpg not sure if the difference versus the more expensive fuel is cost effective though?

Bllody hell, you got lead in that right foot? Mr. Green Over the week, ive done 106 miles in the stop start traffic of Guernsey and averaged 12.4 - Used about 1/2 a tank and have a range of 63 left (3/4 full when i got it back)

Looking forward to the cruise up to Newcastle, should be a pretty nice journey

What is the rough cost to fill the SC up and what sort of miles do you normally get from a tank ?
