Just tried to remove the tow bar from my TDV8 to put it back in the boot and I can't get it to release. The tow bar has been on there for a while, and it's definitely unlocked as I can pull the free handle out and rotate it through 180 degrees, but when I do this, the tow bar doesn't release from the housing and drop out. Are there any tips for getting it to release, or do I need a trip to the dealers for them to give it a tap with hammer

Resist the temptation to drown everything in grease, the track gets gummed up with gravel and silt if you do
Give the locking mechanism good soak in WD and wrap the neck up in a bag when you store it under floor to save the foam liner .  2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱
Lots of other toys in the cupboard...😜
