At time of ordering the electric tow bar was nearly £2k - £1300.00 extra to deploy a tow bar seemed a lot of money |

Is there a towing eye where you can loop a plastic coated bike lock through it and round the bike carrier? That's what I do with my MY10. Also have a long one running through the bike frames when parked up. Just keeps an honest man out really!

There is an "after market" locking pin mechanism available - not sure where you can pick one up, but should be available anywhere you would find trailer parts. |

Wonder how much does that cost on top of the extortionate price paid to LR for a product that does not lock Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Here in Australia this is how all our towing systems are. A tongue that fits into the subframe with a pin. The deployable system is not available here. You can definitely get a lockable pin, plenty on eBay. Just Google "Locking pin for tow ball tongue"

I will search for the locking pin, but as a temporary measure I have now drilled the pin and fitted my own padlock.

Just looking at the height adjustable tow hook and can see your point however here it is illegal to have one deployed unless it's actually in use, yes each time you need to remove it. The previous version on the D3/4/RRS was great for that and it had a small integrated lock on it..... |
