1st post apart from the newbie thread so hope am in the right place, anyway, how do i find out what colour the car is ( it's grey but what grey ? ) would it be on a plate under the bonnet perhaps ?

Yes, under the bonnet you will see the plate telling you the code and colour:

i.e. LRC 659 Bonatti Grey Metallic 2006 RRS SC Bonatti Grey (the 55th car/van I have owned)
2005 GSX 1400 K5

Welcome ,,Mister B there shoud be a paint code on your vin plate under the bonnet MARK
