finally got my ab tips so thought i would show some development piccies, fitting them to my ab upgraded rear end.

i was having a chat with Peachy about clamping the tips on to the existing exhaust pipe, then welding them into place. But I then stumbled upon an exhaust adapter/reducer (via google) which I subsequently had made at Topgear in Bridport. The adapter fits over the original exhaust and fits into the new tip. Piccies below. Seems to be a cleaner solution, and hopefully reduces the risk of rusting in the future (one of my hates!)






next job for me, at the weekend, is to cut off the bend in the exhaust pipes and clean them up ready for welding to the tips. watch this space... Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

i am sooooo slow, right now in the process of color coding the lower tailgate trim, cutting off the (downward facing) ends of my diesel pipes and cleaning them with wire wool. hopefully ready for welding this weekend.

ok so we got round to trimming the original exhaust yesterday, then wire wool to get it ready for welding to the new tips. thought i would put the tips in position, to see what they would look like post-welding, only to find the body shop made a cock-up of things - i told them to make the inner diameter of the sleeve 54mm, to fit over the original exhaust, but they've made the OUTER diameter 54mm. so another 2 weeks delay  Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

so, taken the green lr badge off, taken away the sport hse text and replaced it with the autobiography sport badge which i bought here:

i could have bought the metal ab badge for a few quid more, but every other badge is plastic so plastic it was !
