New member and first post.

I'm just finalising the spec of my V8SC and the wonderful configurator doesn't allow 7 seats and rear screens - which seems odd to me. Dealer is looking into it (why don't they know the products they sell?) but just wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

There seem to be used ones around with both, but things change. If it's an error, I'm sure it's not the first configurator issue.

Thoughts welcome and I look forward to posting as an owner soon (waiting lists permitting...)

I have seven seats and Rear screens on the headrests of the front seats.

I think the reason for the 7 seats non option is due to the SC need edging a bigger fuel tank, which means the extra seats would not fit. Not sure about the rear entertainment though!

It must be a(nother) mistake with the configurator. I've driven a 7 seat SC AB with RSE, and this AB SC that was hawked around the country a year ago had 7 seats and rear screens:

Good you are specifying your ABSC. Wondering how long you have been in the queue and when you expect to take delivery. I ordered last August and am nowhere near even specifying the car, still less having a build slot. Mark

But you must have passed on a few build slot offers though, unless you've ordered from Argos or somewhere similar.

Thanks all for the comments. The configurator allows 7 seats on a SC so no issues there but when you select the rear screens it deletes the 7 seat option. I have started to look at the plan b option of aftermarket screens but that will be a shame. Anyway, I'll see what the dealer comes back with - I need to finalise the order next week.

Lead time wise they are saying December and it's all about the engines apparently. They do have a physical car in the showroom but I want to wait for a 2015 build.

Comments from others here suggest a chronic shortage of the V8 SC engine, especially as it is used in a variety of Jaguars as well as RRs. Since China and the US do not do diesels, I expect there's a body of opinion to pull it from the UK market since less than 1% of the cars are V8 SCs. If they did that, I would rapidly lose interest. Mark

Update - it's a configurator error, as is the addition of a rubber boot mat which adds the tray liner - which are mutually exclusive. To err is to human, to really f@&k it up, you need a computer

So, order pretty much complete now. Have to recommend Patrick at Roger Young Landrover in Plymouth - top bloke...

So. What have you gone for?

Was with the dealer today and have finalised ABSC in Barossa with Espresso/Ivory. They lent me a TDV8 AB for the last few days and I had planned to treat myself to the Meridian reference audio but to be honest, the standard Meridian 825w system was pretty fantastic so I'm sticking with that. 5+2 seating, rear screens (yes you can), various wading, parking, surround camera, in control electronic frippery that I'll no doubt end up using once, towbar and side steps.

I put the two youngest into the +2 rear seats in the car they had in the showroom today (they are 7 and 8 ) and with the rear bench in its most forward position, there's plenty of space - only issue is it's a bit claustrophobic in the back there so only for short distances - which is all I would use it for anyway.

Anyway, that's me done and delivery December/January all being well. There's still some debate on what the exact 2015 spec will be and what might be put in as standard (e.g. washer bottle - there's 30 quid saved!). The sat nav is a likely update candidate for 2015 but no-one official seems to know exactly what. To be honest, I quite like the current Nav system for its simplicity when I compare to other cars so maybe that's a sign of getting old!
