1 year old and 1st gremlin appears

RRS is coming up for 1 year old and the day after I book it in for service the 1st gremlins appear

Firstly, after setting off the suspension failed to move from "access" to "normal" height, with the car telling me to slow down for height to adjust. Had to stop and reset manually but been ok since.

Secondly, the drivers seat refuses to move back to memory setting 1 after being in 2. It moves upwards and backrest reclines ok but won't move backwards although moves ok with manual adjustment.

Looks like the 1st service next week might take a little longer than I hoped!

Sounds silly and easily fixed. Do not worry. Vadim A.

Not worried since I also assume its an easy fix. The suspension glitch may be just one of those things which never appear again Rolling Eyes

Just ironic that when I booked in for the service 2 days ago I told the dealer that car had behaved impeccably and had proved faultless Laughing

Remember a majority of cars have software that is based on a compact Microsoft core so do what you'd with your laptop I.e. reboot. For an RRS that's means disconnecting the battery for a few seconds

2 suggestions.

Suspension: it could be that you pressed the up switch while the suspension was already rising automatically, so basically telling the car to raise to off-road height, hence the "complain" about speed.

Seat: Did you begin using the second key? If so, it could be that it has different memory settings '08 RRS TDV8
I converted my diesel RRS to run on an environmentally friendly mixture of caribou fat and baby seals oil

Thanks for the suggestions. I always let the suspension adjust to ride height automatically but maybe the start of the glitch was that it perhaps hadn't lowered to access height sufficiently before I opened the doors etc. Used it a few times since and everything is ok so probably just one of those inexplicable happenings Rolling Eyes

Re the key, no always the same one. The seat definitely sticks when it tries to move itself backwards but strangely enough if, when its stuck, I move it back marginally using the adjuster and then press "position 1" again it moves back ok

It's not causing any hardship so will let the dealer sort it on the service Thumbs Up

UPDATE

Prior to going in for service the electrics on the drivers seat stopped working completely with each press of any adjuster being met with a brief click.

The suspension fault never reappeared so probably just one of those glitches. On looking at the seat fault the dealer concluded that it probably needed a new motor so is booked back in in a few days time.

However, went over some rumble strips yesterday and, hey presto, everything working again! Rolling Eyes Will still let it go back in to be checked out though even though everything points to a loose connection or sticking motor.

Finally, thank you to Pete @ Land Rover for taking an interest in the matter Thumbs Up your PM was very much appreciated
