JLR 'fixed' the fault last time but didn't/wouldn't tell me what the problem was. 

Is this on a MY14?

This isn't uncommon. And if you live near someone who has electric gates or garage door opener, every time they use these the car will wake up and run checks in anticipation of being started. Even with a new battery, both the Sport and now the FF go flat if left for more than couple of weeks. Having done drop tests and draw tests, it seems the car takes 0.2-0.4 amps when sleeping, raising to 3-4 amps when it wakes itself up every six hours or if it seems, any radio signals close buy trigger it. Older cars suffered from faulty tailgate switches but the more modern have no excuse so it does seem a design/operational flaw that we have to live with. I now put an intili charger on mine if I'm not going to use it, others have posted using solar chargers effectively. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

You need to make sure what ever you use, that it is no more than 1.5 amp and that it has some form of control so it doesn't fry the battery. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

Got to say I was worried leaving my car at Heathrow airport for 3 weeks, but sooooooooo pleased when she started first time.  TDV8 2007 window tints, side steps.

Had the same problem once. Changed the battery and thats it. NEVER HAPpened again. I think inwas away for 5 --6 days Vadim A.
