I am about to sign up with an LR Dealer for 12 months warranty at £745 for my '57 TDV8. Does anyone have an opinion if I am better with LR main dealer or Warranty Direct or maybe one of the others such as Click 4 Warranty?. I have always thought that a main dealer would provide a better level of cover but maybe I'm wrong. I do need to also pay LR £180 for an inspection before they will cover the car but I am using this to tell me if I should buy this car or not and I think the seller will make good anything that comes out of the inspection - or I probably won't buy it and will start looking all over again.

^^^ This topic has been discussed in great detail and there are probably as many opinions as there are warranty companies. Please use the search facility. My personal view is that LR extended warranty is good for cars upto 5 years old/75,000 miles but the level of cover for cars 5-10 years old/100,000 miles isn't worth it and one should go for Warranty Direct/Warranty Wise. |

Many thanks fkarim, I will do that before I make my decision. I will probably still go for the LR pre-warranty inspection to learn more about the car but keep an open might who to take the warranty with.

Hi, I previously went with Warranty Direct and I have to it was a total waste of money. I had an engine issue and they wangled out of paying as they claim it was a 'were and tear issue', although Land Rover Taggerts Glasgow disputed what Warranty Direct were claiming.

I was quoted just over £800 from WD. Got a good conversation going with guy on phone at WD and he asked me if i had the means to get car to a garage should anything go wrong. I explained i have breakdown cover which will take the car anywhere i want it to go, plus i also have my own 7.5T recovery truck(for transporting my real offroader to events).

For £230, I would be tempted to have it on my own car |

If that's the case the way to go would be AA or RAC breakdown and recovery with a separate policy from Warranty Direct. Best of both worlds for half price. Seems like a no brainer if you need cover then MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

I have been with WD for 2 years now and they have paid out every time including bushes, arms, park brake, steering rack... I pay £625 p.a. but after reading the £230 quote above <gulp> |

The £230 policy will be their lite policy which is a lower level of cover which covers quite a fair bit less. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography
