Try £12k for a reconditioned engine if you can get one for a RRS Big Cry

When my last RRS was acting up I swore I would never buy another but I looked around and couldn't find anything that ticked all the boxes the RRS does for me so I bought another Embarassed

People say you can buy cheaper private or indi but this is not like buying a fiesta or a punto - you want 12 months minimum LR approved warranty and the support of LR customer service if things go wrong before you touch one of these with a barge pole - its your money and you take your chance but I am sure many on here who have been through the joy and pain of owning a RRS would agree Bow down

Great vehicles but they are not cheap to fix and can go wrong - but I think the same can be said for all luxury vehicles Confused

I have driven nothing else that compares to a good RRS Cool Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

Thanks again. The LR/RR marque is new to me. I think my wife would also agree with you - also would look nice towing the horse trailer Smile We're thinking of replacing her 2006 Shogun - she's had it as a demonstrator - done 75K miles has been trouble free & she loves it. However, having said that don't think we'll get another - very poor on power & residuals are dire. She doesn't seem keen on the German equivalents or the Disco; so doesn't leave much else Laughing

I bought a new landcruiser in 1997 after being scared off LR by all the unreliability press - had 3 months of hassle with fault/dealer and ended up with another dealer and although it was reliable after that/functional/cheap to service I just never felt the love or believed the hype about Toyota Confused

I sold it when 3 year old and bought a Freelander 1 and as you can see from my signature never looked back until the MY10 RRS but now rebuilding confidence thanks to the current Black Edition which is pretty special Cool Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
