Wales 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Santorini Black
Floggitts RRS

New here, this is now my 15th land rover!

I collected our Java Black 09 plate 2.7TDV6 SE on 6th March from Stratstone Land Rover Swansea, having traded in a TD5 Discovery with 177,000 miles on it!

We collected it as soon as they opened (couldn't wait!) and set straight off for a London hospital (weekly visit at the moment)

We are very very impressed, apart from the ride, speed, comfort, refinement, quietness, presence, space ....... the biggest change for us is the MPG. I guess the computer is a little optimistic but average for the journey was 37 that is a third more than the old Discovery so this more than offsets the higher road tax that hurt a bit when we brought 12 months Shocked

Back from London late on Friday and I noticed only one dipped beam, ummm. So I popped back to the Swansea dealership this morning. Not a problem they took it straight in and it was back outside before i could finish my coffee, and not a penny to pay. So far I am very impressed with them, the whole sales process was easy (actually too easy).

Quick clean up this morning from here 450 mile round trip as the sun was shining. And off to the beach for a photo shoot

I had time today to give her a nice wash, and sparkling in the sun I noticed it is not Java Black! It is dusted with coloured glitter Razz Actually it is Santorini Black, I know this because it says it on a label under the bonnet ! doh.

After a nice wash I couldnt help but go for a drive and make it all dirty again, maybe tomorrow I will do it the other way round and wash it after, which would make more sense.

Two pictures from today

Very nice. Santorini black looks superb when it is clean & in the sunshine. Just steps your OCD up a notch in trying to keep it clean though Crying or Very sad

Someone is getting all 'arty' with the lead-in lines on the photo's. It looks a lovely location Thumbs Up I'm in the shed, I'll be back in the real world in a minute.

I like to be arty farty, unfortunately its mostly farty Cool

Lots of hidden little locations by the sea around Carmarthenshire and Cardigan and plenty of places where you can drive on the beach.

Your right about cleaning it though as I HAD to do it again today, I like to leave it spotless when its parked in front of the house and lowered to access height for maximum effect. I only use it at the weekends but love love looking at it when i walk by.

Had a chance to do a few modifications this weekend

Purchased from Duckworth land rover I have fitted the full towing harness with the 13 pin socket, and tested on the caravan works great. Had a second-hand detachable tow ball from fleabay which is nicely stowed next to the jack, job finished Thumbs Up Very pleased with how well this fits only took about an hour to do.

Replaced the front cigar lighter socket as it had been used as a lighter YUK! and was corroded, need this for iphones and stuff. Waiting for some leads to come as I am putting a dedicated iphone connection in the glove box which will connect into the AUX in on the radio as well a permanent power connection for charging

Got the intercooler to manifold boost pipe changed to silicon today, easy Thumbs Up

Tried to change the turbo to intercooler boost pipe but some CCensoredT has put the jubilee clip so it can only be undone from the top end or if you have hands the size of a 3 month old baby, but arms the length of a gorilla with two universal joints at the elbow and wrist. When i see a mechanic fitting the description I will employ him to also fit the stupidly difficult short joiner that fits to the turbo. Of course one only finds this out AFTER removing the entire wheel arch cover. I will have another go some time I have a jubilee clip driver with a nice flexible shaft but it was at the workshop (obviously) and not at home where i needed it.

Ran out of mongrel munch biscuits this evening, so being the good husband I am, I volunteered to drive to the local supermarket to get some. Grinning from ear to ear all the way there, got the dog munch and thought a little detour was in order. So a blast though the town and back still grinning.

Driving home a spotty erk in a vauxhall astra who could hardly see over the steering wheel was so close behind me I thought he was using my diesel. He also wrongly assumed he would be overtaking me as we left the 30 mph zone Rolling with laughter

Arrive home still grinning ear to ear
