United Kingdom 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Another response from the clown I'm having a debate with.....

After another drive I notice that my left foot is not suspended in the air. My heel rest on the floor while my forefoot covers the brake, just like it does with the accelerator.

I have yet to hear a compelling argument for right foot braking besides 'that's what driving instructors teach' and 'you can't left foot brake with a manual so you shouldn't with an auto or you'll get confused'.
While left foot braking is quicker and therefore safer. If that isn't enough of a reason then I don't know what is.

This guy on your other Forum must be dellusional ?

he must be the only Left Foot Braker out there...unless its Walter Rohrl on the forum !!

Like many others , my first forray in an Automatic MANY years ago was a Volvo hire car and when approaching a junction tried the ' left Foot Braking' ( through ignorance ) that this numpty suggests is normal .... and nearly crushed my chest against the steering wheel , belts were not compulsory in those days !!

Left Foot Braking is best left to Herr Rohrl and Monsieur Loeb..... thats the only place that left foot braking has a place!!

TST TDV8 HSE....Gone but not forgotten ....class act
Cayenne S diesel.....850n/m....385bhp....the danglies ...

In day-to-day driving I use right foot but there are occasions where I use my left foot on the brake - for example at a junction where I'm looking to get out in to heavy traffic. I might use my left foot to hold the vehicle momentarily while I bring the revs up slightly to ensure an instant launch. In the old days I'd have used the handbrake but in the RRS it feels more natural to use the left foot than hold the EPB switch up. It's rare though. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
