I'm looking to replace my 2010 Focus ST2 (435bhp) with a slower, more capable, more luxurious Range Rover Sport and hopefully it be a 3.6TDV8 as I've test drove one and it was lovely!

In our family we've always had 4X4's, an early Range Rover Classic V8 which my dad converted to a diesel engine, and then after it was unfortunately stolen, we replaced it with a 1997 Defender 110 CSW.

But after having my fast car (which I spent silly money on) I'm now looking towards a RRS.

I like the look, size and so far everything else about the RRS.

Problem is, there are a few RRS TDV8's for sale for 12k onwards with high mileage.. (100k+) and as I'm not sure, I dont know whether to feel comfortable spending that amount on a car with such high mileage.

More like £20k for something with around 80k miles.

What are the main issues besides electric handbrake failure, turbo failure and actuator arms seizing oh and £500 tax!

And how high is your mileage? what did you buy it on?

And what other things should I look for on a used car? I'm also looking at getting a warranty!

Welcome, but there are so many threads on this which you will find if you do a search. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈

Hi mate- I would say if mileage bothers you there's plenty of low mileage examples. Most here will recommend the V8 but I love the TDV6- I don't find it sluggish at all (although it may have been fiddled with by the previous owner) I have a Focus RS so if I want to hoon I use that. My sport is a 55 plate with 67k on it- as it's pre 06 it's in the lower tax bracket- stuck a non ageing plate on it and it looks new.
There's some corking cars that come up from time to time on the classifieds here so worth keeping your eyes out.
Warranty direct will do a 12 month warranty for around £650 which will cover most of the likely problems.
