still very disappointed that I am missing out by a few weeks on incontrol with my March build
did read the "looking at future options" line on the LR website though as offering some hope that there could be retrofitting

My dealer showed me a screen print from an LR system saying incontrol would be going into build from 14 April onwards.

probably not worth the screen it was printed on but........ 2010 997 Carrera S

My dealer told me yesterday when I went to have a look at a car built for stock that it's now mid-May, so slipping by at least a month a month.

Sadly the car had a red roof with black sills where I want a black roof and red sills, otherwise, I would have snapped it up.

He started the engine which woke everyone from their slumbers in the showroom and there's a lovely exhaust crackle when you blip it. He told me the SC cars are less than 1%, such is our obsession with petrol prices. Mark

incontrol i really think is not a change that really effects the car , its just toys like the I-Drive system, the bigger changes are September build onwards with new HD screen ( if no dual view ) and far larger software changes and media interface from Bosch.
The 5.0sc deff has more than a crackle from the rear end when out on the road ! 2014 5.0SC AB

Gone 5.0 SC

You seem confident that these major changes will take place when the car is barely a year in production. Are you just passing on a rumour? Mark

Looks like incontrol has now dropped off the LR configurator
given build times are still measured in months that must mean it is some time off
Pleased I did not delay my order that's for sure 2010 997 Carrera S

Hi All,

Just to confirm, InControl is still listed on the UK configurator for RR Sport. It is also still on schedule for April builds onwards.

The RR Evoque with InControl which was scheduled for March build onwards and many of these have already been received by the customers with positive feedback received so far.

If anyone is experiencing delays with their orders, please send me a PM with the following details:
Full Name:
Contact No:
Email Address:
Order Number:
Selling Dealer:

And I would be more than happy to look into it further to advise of the current situation.

Many thanks,

Over in Evoque land, one person has taken delivery of his new Evoque with InControl which could not be made to work by the dealer and ended up with an LR engineer camped on his driveway in the wilds of Scotland fixing it.

It's clear InControl is not ready, not that it matters much to me as an ABSC seems as far off in the distance as it ever did.

Maybe LR make more profit from supplying the Chinese market than the UK market but that cannot be the case of the US market where buyers are notoriously intolerant of order delays. We in the UK market are being ignored; hopefully, LR will soon get the message that, with the likes of the Macan about to steal sales, they need to stop congratulating themselves and get their act together. Mark

Hi Mark,

I am only aware of one case where the InControl was unfortunately not working at time of delivery. This has now been resolved and at present we have no concerns with the system.

Pete, we are probably talking about the same person then.

Tell me this. Is it true that there is such a chronic a shortage of 5.0 SC engines - given that the US (especially) does not do diesels - that production of ABSC cars for the UK is severely restricted until October? Mark
