I'm sure it's am error and should be 380W. LR's configurator always seems to be full of errors. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography

Wasn't the 380 W system the Harman Kardon one in the first gen Sport? If so it may explain why it has been dropped.

According to the brochure the standard audio system is 380W with 8 speakers. So it definitely looks like an error on the configurator. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography

The configurator is now at MY14.5 so maybe it has been dropped. |

The landrover 14.5MY Product Brief lists the std audio as 380W so configurator is wrong. MY 2014 HSE Dynamic

It's a shambles isn't it? You'd think there'd be someone who really understood the options available, model configurations and the rest just to ensure this kind of damaging confusion didn't happen.

Don't you think its explained by the fact that JLR is focussed on the emerging Chinese market |

Mine is 2014.5 and has the standard audio system, and it sounds fine enough for me (I know it is an unpopular opinión), I think it has 380W, enough to play some rock and metal at not super loud volume (I'm not an audiophile, so all the standard systems have been good enough for me). |

The problem with the configurator is that JLR has every 3 months changes in their configuration ( MY 14.25 - 14.5 - 14.75 ) .... and for each country different basis settings and different packages ..... each changed every 3 months .... No company of the world can handle this .... except you have 100 persons there working only on this. And I believe JLR has only 2 specialists working in this department The german configurator is down now 2 months ...... I am looking at the Porsche Macan as an option as well, but their Configurator is not perfect as well.

Have just listened carefully to friends new RRS standard audio system.. It sounds terrible not a patch on the basic Harmon Kardon system I have in my base model D4. Now really worried as I have RRS on order due May. Will be going to see dealer tomorrow to listen to next system up which is Meridian and hope that not too late to spec on my order. Mind you the basic Meridian system on wife's just bought Freelander is terrible too so not too hopeful. I have contacted Meridian and LR re this and have been told that LR will contact me soon.. Maybe! Meridian highly respected Hi Fi manufacturer. Told them that I was surprised that they put their name to it.

I have the Meridian in my RRS and although the initial impression was not positive (it concentrates a lot of information into the centre channel so that everyone in the car gets a stable soundstage). As I have listened to it more, the better I think it is. Knowing the music playing from my Quad/IMF and ELS system at home, the subtle detail and dynamic of the music comes though well with good tonal balance and frequency response. It is just 'different' from what most in car auido systems are like. When you get used to the soundstage it is enjoyable. I'm more of a Quad man than a Meridian man, but it is noticeably better than the HK I had in the HSE Discovery which I though was very good at the time. Couldn't justify the cost of the TOTR system though. |
