Hey guys

After some more advice please, I've had my 58 plate tdv8 rrs in for a service at my local indie garage which I've used for years on my other cars with no bother. He's contacted me today to say that he's got the wrong diff oil for the rear as he's now found out after noticing the cables going to the rear diff that it's an electrical rear diff and thus needs different oil to the front diff which he can only get direct from land rover. Dose this sound rite to you guys or is he confusing himself? Worried he's using the wrong oil in the front/rear or both!

Also my cars only done 47000 so dose it even need doing? As I've been looking at the schedule below and I read it as it doesn't need doing until 75000? Now I'm confused

The locking rear diff does use different oil to the standard rear diff / front diff.

The locking diff uses "Castrol SAF carbon mod plus" according to the owner's manual. The standard diffs use SAF X0 (now called "Syntrax Longlife 75W-90" I think. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
