Crankshaft broken on 2011 RRS HSE TDV6

Friday 30th December whilst in France without notice the RR stopped, lost all power, electrics, shuddered to a halt in 50yds - just like the engine had been whipped out from under the bonnet, luckily just come off the motorway otherwise might not be typing this!!

Just heard today that a master fuse has blown and the crankshaft is broken, having the RR repatriated to the UK for repair. Fortunately RR under warranty has full service history with 92000 miles on the clock.

Has this happened to anyone else, could it be a fault for a high mileage RR.

Any advice welcome

In the original post you said

"Just heard today that a master fuse has blown and the crankshaft is broken, having the RR repatriated to the UK for repair. Fortunately RR under warranty has full service history with 92000 miles on the clock. "

I'm assuming the mileage of 92K was a typo with an extra zero because warranty is up to 60K but 9,200 also seems very, very low for a 4 year old motor?

Land Rover warranty is 3 years unlimited mileage Dr. Barney's is a 2011 so falls within the 3 year factory warranty. Wink
