Can believe the mark up dealers are making on used cars.I have just had a valuation on my11 sport today.I purchased it from new with only 13k miles on it full land rover service history and is in showroom condition.Just fell of my chair when they said £33k to px in for a 13 plate hse.I have looked on the used land rover web site and they are going for £38-£40 with more miles than mine.I agree dealers have to make money but this takes the mick.Always brought lexus cars before and at least the dealers were fair on px prices.Dont think i will be buying another one.

No idea on price, but the 11 just missed out on the engine, gearbox, boot and infotainment upgrades at 12 Mike

but a dealer will as you say need to make a living, they also will have to do things to it for the new purchaser, like service it, correct anything they might find, supply a warranty and pay the VATman all that on top of what the new owner would obtain in way of discount

shop around, one dealer might have more movement in price, either on the trade in or purchase, you could trade it in for cash elsewhere and be in a better position

Mark up on these is high Sad

I have sold privately in the past to get best price but had to P/x my last 3.5 year old low miles RRS for £29500 - due to problems I could not sell privately with clear conscience Evil or Very Mad

Try and sell private then negotiate some discount Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Not that you've given us much info about your car other than mileage and age, I'd say £33K was about right?

I think prices are everywhere at the minute and it does depend on so many factors and your location of course. Mike

The car magazine "Whatcar" has a valuation facility on its website which is free. Not hugely accurate but it will give you an objective ballpark figure.

Thnaks for the advise.Had a look on what car and there price is private sale £39k and px £35,500.I know these are only guide prices but for a car with such low miles (13k) and showroom condition i think £33k is to low.I know a dealer would put it up for at least £38k.

Sadly, it's only worth what someone will give you for it. Shop around and see what another dealer will offer or sell it privately and hope to get more (along with the added risks of selling privately). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
