Headlamp Adjustment

I have a 2006 HSE 2.7 and my dip beam headlights are very low. Can these be adjusted without requiring a trip to the dealer? My high beam seems fine but it's getting to the point where I am finding it difficult to drive with the dip beam only. RRS 3.0 SDV6 HSE 2012 Santorini Black

Any garage who does MOT's will have the equipment to line your headlights up properly, it is by no means a main dealer only sort of job, so don't get stung by them trying to charge you for a 5 min job. Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

You can do it yourself if you can find a bit of quiet, dark road. You need an allen key (or a suitably sized flat screwdriver will also work at a push).

If you look at the top of the headlight unit you will see two sockets. One is down below a hole in the front slam panel, the other is more obvious. They are an off-white colour on mine I think. Have a play and you'll quickly figure which one does what action.

I wonder why your dipped beam is so low - do you have the adaptive / xenon headlights? They might be stuck in the low position which might require something to be replaced rather than just adjusted. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
