Hi, Can anybody help me with an issue I seem to have created? I have an 06 RR Sport HSE 2.7TDV which I have just fitted a set of used, original alloys to and now the DSC light flashes and cuts in when taking corners, even at a reasonably slow speed which has never happened before. The car was running on 20" wheels fitted with 295 / 40 tyres which were mixed from front to rear with no problems at all. I needed at least 3 new tyres due to wear so decided to buy a set of used wheels and tyres online. I now have a set of 20" "Style 11 Westminster" original wheels fitted with Pirelli P Zero 275 / 40 / ZR20's which came off a 2013 Vogue. As my car has Brembo front brakes, the wheels were supplied with a set of TPI 30mm spacers to avoid the wheels hitting the front callipers. I was recommended to fit spacers to all 4 wheels to ensure correct alignment, which I did but I now have this issue. Has anybody else come across this and does anybody know of a solution please? Any help gratefully received.

Having tried a few possible solutions, I am still getting nowhere with this issue. I have taken the car to a couple of local tyre / wheel centres who both suggest that the spacers are widening the track of the car too much. Another guy said that it should be fine as he fits all kinds of wheels to RR Sports, some with spacers and some whithout and has never had this issue. He suggested getting the car checked out with a diagnostic. I went to our local LR main dealer: Roger Young, who were really helpful and did the check for free and took the car out on the road but also came up with nothing as far as a solution goes...apart from telling me that the car has an outstanding safety recall on the brake system from a year or 2 ago! This has been booked in for next week so at least the brakes will be good! I really don't want to have to take the wheels off as there must be a solution out there but at the moment, I can't see an alternative.
If anyone can offer any kind of assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Presumably you've had a 4-wheel alignment check carried out? Not just one of the simple checks but something like pro-align (http://www.pro-align.co.uk/). What was the result? Is the battery in good condition? The RRS is prone to errors when the battery is dying.

If the alignment is correct then it might be something like the steering wheel angle sensor giving a wrong reading. Or the yaw rate sensor is giving incorrect readings perhaps. Another possibility is a wheel speed sensor (ABS sensor) might have been damaged/moved during the wheel change. This might give a spurious reading leading to DSC activation. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I think I may be getting somewhere at last. The car is currently at the local main dealer for the brake safety recall so I asked them to check the DSC / wheels issue out again for me. I have swapped back to the original set of wheels and tyres and the fault is still there so that's good news I guess. They called me this afternoon saying that they have ran various checks and now say that the steering sensor is faulty and is causing the fault after all. They then quoted me £935.00 to replace the entire steering column as the sensor has become "unbonded" and cannot be repaired. I have a warranty on the car but not with LR so I now have check if this is covered but I am thinking there must be a cheaper way of getting this sorted than a new column surely...am I right?
