It might be covered with a L/R warranty, but if it hasn't got its service history upto date then L/R take a very dim view on any warranty claims related to mechanical items. Personally i would never buy a vehicle that i haven't seen in the flesh, especially from an auction. Ask yourself the question, why is a two year old RRS in an auction and not on a L/R's foercourt Unless its a repossession. I'm sure there are some genuine RRS go through the auction, just try and do your homework on it first. |

Agree with Ady & Muddy - 2 year old will cost over £35k at the very least - that's a lot of dosh to splash out without viewing or at least some kind of comprehensive report.

Nobodys keen then Worth an ask though. Was talking to a buyer for BMW at the weekend and a lot of main dealer cars come through auction. When you see a car at a main dealer and the last owners address is quite a distance away chances are its come from there anyway. Would only buy with FSH anyway. MY 09TDV8 |

I bought my 1st RRS without seeing it but it was from LR and 6 months old. There were a couple of things that needed attention and they sorted it though they were 110 miles away.

from my experience of auctions, the best bid is not exactly the best price you can get. it's a competitive event and many bidders want to win at any cost. i attended several auctions with the aim to buy a sport, and each one went for a premium compared to what I thought it was worth. in the end i went to a dealer, had a price in mind and tried my luck at haggling for 1) lower price and 2) better warranty. it worked ! Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.

When we bought our 10 plate TDV8 a couple of years ago, I noticed that a lot of Land a rover dealers had cars with similar indexes for sale. Our dealer told us that LR had disposed of their TDV8 fleet through the auction network which were subsequently all bought up by the dealers.

Been told its surprising how many cars go on main dealer forecourts for a premium price that have come through auction. Keep my options open and carry on looking. Better find one soon though, er indoors thinks we should buy an X6 Why the would I want one of them. MY 09TDV8 |

Land rover has a route to dispose of all its cars. I remember the G4's going. The right people know and know about it and know the info required. Dealers buying a car isn't that big a deal they give you the reassurance and they work the cost of failure in/can get rid of lemons (probably back at auction!!) Mike 2014 Facelift Discovery |

Looking like its a main dealer or private sale then. Just need to find a good LR main dealer now. And I still don't want an X6 MY 09TDV8 |
