This will be the third time I have moved my reg number. The last two dealers (Audi and Jaguar) have done it for free, gratis and for nothing.

^^^especially as it will have their logo on it. I have a real issue driving around advertising for them and paying for the plates. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I've already binned the dealers tax disc holder and ripped the sticker off the back window. ---------------------------

I took great pleasure in pealing off the dealer sticker that was on the outside of rear glass while salesman was stood there, and replaced it with my preferred forum sticker.

Firstly Hi to this forum, newbie here, Having just bought my first ever RRS and waiting on my private plate transfer coming back from DVLA, am I right in thinking that as I have both my RRS and previous car insured, that I can sneakily take a chance on putting my private reg on my RRS until all the paperwork which has been posted for processing and should the police pass then it should not flag up on their system...both cars are taxed, insured and motd, however now that DVLA in their wisdom closed all their premises it now becomes a nightmare changing plates.. |

I would wait. If plod do a check and it comes back as your previous car they will give you a hard time. I changed a plate from a blue AMG to a silver one and got stopped on motorway and took an hour of fast talking to avoid car being to towed!

^^^^^^ thankyou, I understand that and I still own my other vehicle at the moment.. I haven't stopped the insurance on it yet and is taxed up till end of February.. I have always thought that the police vehicles recognition system only flags up red if on passing a vehicle without valid insurance.. I know that should I be stopped in a roadside check that this is a different matter and I would have to have a good excuse for running the plates or just play a very good blonde moment and hope for the best while being able to prove all docs etc are at DVLA for processing the reg transfer.... its the traffic policecars that pass the other way that worry me most until I receive all relevant paperwork. |

Happy days!!.. I received my new V5 today but not my new tax disc.. I phoned Swansea and they said that new legislation requires that if I have my new V5 then I should change plates as it is legal to display previous tax disc until my new updated one comes in the post soon after.. I have changed with my insurance company, and all relieved now.. so bring it on pc plod...im more legal today than I was yesterday |
