They are standard 20" wheels, came with the car, not diamond turned.

My advice on the first instance is ditch the wonder wheels and the Brillo pad, way to harsh for the wheels and I wouldn't tell the dealer that's what been used either

Yeah did think the brilo was harsh, only thing that would remove the surface rust. It's all off now so will just have to wait and see if it comes back... I have a feeling it will, they are not diamond cut.

Its my guess what you could see was very hard baked on brake pad debris. The RRS brakes have to work hard and even after the shortest trips you'll find brake debris on the wheels - was it a long time since you last cleaned them? Have they ever been sealed with a hard wax?

brilo pads should be kept in the kitchen sink not in the car cleaning cupboard
