Alloy wheel advice please

Hi, I am after advice please on how to identify genuine RR alloy wheels and thought this would be the best place to ask. I have a superb set of 275 40 20 Vredestein Wintracs in storage that almost have full tread and I was going to package them up as a winter wheel set, to then sell on, or perhaps simply sell them on without rims (when the weather worsens). If I do add alloys, I definitely want to make sure that the 20" wheels I buy are OEM (as this is what I will advertise them as and don't want to disappoint a potential buyer) but to be honest, I have no experience with Range Rover wheels...which leads me on to this; I see all sorts of Range Rover alloys advertised as "Stormer" and to be honest I can't understand why they look different! Are they just incorrectly advertised?

Thank you,
Pete

Hi and welcome, more often than not the wheels are as you say incorrectly advertised. As far as i'm aware there is one style of stormer wheels, i will try and find a picture to post. There are a lot of replica wheels for sale out there but the genuine wheels should have a land rover logo on the inside of them. You might be better just selling your tyres without wheels as most members just swap tyres over with the wheels they already have. If you are thinking of advertising your tyres on here, please read the For Sale rules first. Thumbs Up

Thanks for your reply, that info is really helpful.

I won't qualify to sell on the site but thanks for the advice re just selling the tyres without rims. I'm an X5 driver Embarassed and they tend to go for entirely seperate sets rather than just switching tyres.

Thanks for the replies, although I think you are right - it might be best to sell off the wheels, sorry I can't accept the offer!

I'm assuming that it's traditional for a Yorkshireman to low-ball a Lancastrian.

20" wheels usually seem to be in demand, so you're unlikely to get a set cheap, and when combined with the cost of wheel delivery, removing exisitng tyres, fitting your tyres & increased delivery costs of the complete set, you'd probably wish you'd taken Ady's offer!
