My RRS did not have the TV Tuner built in. I have been looking round for weeks and cannot decide on the final plan. I'm looking for a unit that can plug directly into the OEM unit and also have a spare input as I want to install a front and rear camera, plugged into a DVR that I can then monitor and playback on the OEM touchscreen.
I would like to know the following:
It must work from the touch screen only.
Has anyone installed their own digital tuner.
Where did you mount the tuner.
Where would you think the best place to mount it would be
how difficult was it to run the wires and connections and so on
Where did you place the aerials
Has anyone got any diagrams showing the equipment locations and anything on the wiring looms/harnesses for the media functions.
I have found several units but cannot decide the best route and also value for money. I rather pay more to ensure it lasts and works for the long term, than doing the cheaper option and you regret it later on.

Can't answer all the questions but I have 1 fitted - installed by the seller.
My Sport is a 2005 - so don't know if its the same for 2010.
It displays on the screen but by remote via a magic eye - this doesn't look out of place.
The tuner can be located behind the lower glove box on the passenger side.
I've had no issues with it there - easy to get at & that's where the piggy back fuse lives & cables run to the screen.
Cables for the aerials run behind the A post trim & the aerials are located on the front screen against the headlining - apparently factory fitted privacy glass affects reception. These are discreet and I can't really see them whilst driving.
The unit I purchased needs the GVIF to make the picture which is under the passenger seat.
Reception is hit & miss.
It has a USB port for recording & playback ( never used ).
If I'm honest - more than a gimmick than a daily piece of kit

you can apparently fir the genuine TV into the sport (or disco) and have it all working.

Ive considered it because I did spec it on my disco and miss it from the sport. Mike
