Considering a new Denso alternator can be bought for the TDV6 for £216 and takes half an hour to fit; £700 at a dealer does not seem like good value. So far as I know the alternator is already protected against water and the workshp manual doesn't mention anything about 'waterproofing'.

I had the same thing in November 2013 in my RRS TDV8. Charging indicator, stink and additionally fire under the hood. Fire fighting ended, replacing the alternator and engine repair of harness. |
