I usually stick to what the vehicle originally came with unless for any reason they are . Mine are Pirelli scorpion zero asimmetrico and i'm finding the wear rate and grip very good. |

Size wise I looked at going to 45 form the 40s but decided to stay standard on 40s. If you do change you need to check the spare tyre size. You may need a new one of them if the difference is to big 07 tdv8 stornoway grey at home tucked up

I don't you if you know but I bought awd mans tdv8 off him and he had fitted 2011 20" genuine LR s/c alloys with conti tyres so it's open to options now hence why I'm asking for ideas. It's really a can of worms as some might run budgets and swear by them other will run expensive tyres and say they are the best. I'm looking for a nice middle ground. |

I recommend the toyo proxes-t1-sport. Have had these on several cars and currently on the RRS

I ditched the 20" conti summer tyres on my first RRS due to feathered edges after 10k miles and been very happy with the wear since on the all season pirelli scorpions

Muddy I don't want to give you a new headache but did you tell your insurer about changing wheel size? Everyone is OK with using winter tyres but some class changing wheel size as a "modification". The excuse is "if the standard version of the car didn't come with the same wheel size, you've modified it". For some insurers, none of these facts/arguments seem to matter:
Reducing damage risk to your car and others' Reducing financial risk due to cheaper wheels In my case last year, following manufacturer's handbook (applies to pre-2010 cars) that you should change to 18" or 19" wheels if using winter tyres |

I think the ABI guide only mentions tyres but good if you have specifically checked about changing wheel size with them and they are OK with it. I had to pay extra last year for making the roads safer
