Oman 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange
Bodykit from China

Well, after looking at various options from the UK, I ended up going with a bodykit conversion from China... Embarassed

Basically, I couldn't justify the shipping costs from the UK to Oman, or what I suspect are inflated prices in some cases.

I researched over the past month and ended up using the same company that provides the updated boot lip discussed in another thread.

Can't fault their service, very helpful and informative.

The pictures below are what I've ordered with the price deleted as I'm not sure I'm allowed to post that.

Over and above this I will need to get the rear bumper reflectors, LED brake light, and possibly the PDC sensors, PDC conversion wiring looms and washer jet assembly for a 2010 model, however I'll determine that when the kit arrives.

Everything they say is a direct fit for a 2005-2009 RRS...

Just hope I haven't made an expensive mistake here, but hey ho can't take money with you when you die...

The body kit should arrive early January so I'll update you when, or if it arrives... Embarassed

Cheers

It should be fine, strangely I spoke to the same company about the bodykit (Jenny) I'm afraid she didn't know much in detail she thought you can fit the kit straight onto a 05-09.

I don't think that's right because to fit a 2010+ ab kit on a 05-09 you need some brackets and mounts which sadly they don't supply so they tell you that you don't need them!

With these companies because sometimes the sales team on Skype has such little knowledge they often send you the wrong parts so you always have to confirm with them like 100 times.

How much did she quote you for the full body kit + shipping?

Hi Karan,

I dealt with Amy, via email so everything was referred to the production dept. before I got a response. Seemed very switched on when I ask about fittings, especially the roof spoiler where she immediately stated that they provide 2 types, one for 2005-09 and one for 2010+ models.

This gave me some confidence in her other answers as some of the other suppliers simply stated their spoiler fitted all models, which couldn't be the case as the mounting points are different Confused

I paid USD1,600 all in shipped to Muscat via sea freight, I'm responsible for clearing it through customs and loading onto a lorry. That's a round Grand in Sterling so not bad compared to 500-700 quid shipping cost alone for a GRP bumper set from the UK.

Cheers

That's a very good price. I guess if it all comes together perfectly it wil be well worth it, I have just had a bad experience before with the front grill I must've told them over 10 times I want the 2010 style grill but for my 05-09 they said yes ok lalala and when I received it it was the 2010+ grill which don't fit my car.

But for that price it's definatly worth it!

Seems you got a good deal!

Stryke,

No, the lights are OE not Land Rover. The Kit cost USD 850 and the lights USD 600. Total was USD 1600 Incl shipping.

I'm pretty certain l ' ll have to get 2010 PDCs, etc but should be worth it for the final result Smile

Cheers

That's a very good price. Genuine headlights are nearly 2000 USD (I think). Will be interesting to hear about the quality of the parts once you receive them!

I think if you are facelifting a pre 2010 you will also need some brackets and mounts? maybe X5PEA can chime in on this one.

yep, agree that's why I went for it, cheaper than just doing the bumpers and spoiler in GRP from the UK. Also because it's PU/PP material for the bumpers should be more resistant to the regular knocks you get over here from the imbeciles trying to park or ramming their shopping trolleys into you....

I'm already looking at the parts I'll need. I know what I think I need just need to find the LR part nos. for them to compare purchasing in UK ex. VAT and shipping and getting them here locally from the dealer. Basically all to do with the front wings (inner and outer front finishing panels and front wing to bumper interface connector)

Same goes for the other stuff like PDC sensors, PDC/ fog light looms, etc. If the garage is up for it I'll get the 2010 looms locally and get them to fit the 2005-09 connectors from my old looms to connect to the main harness. If not I'll have to buy the conversion looms.

I guess only time will tell Smile will all updated on progress. Thumbs Up

Cheers
