Rubber door sill rip

Hello everyone,

Was hoping if I could have some advice on a problem I have with my car at the moment. The rubber piping around the car which the front driver door closes onto has a rip. It's quite a long tear, which is a common thing on cars but not of this age and mileage. It's a 2012/61 plate with 24k miles, the rubber piping for the door sill on my previous rrs started to deteriorate when it had hit 70k miles. I've not done anything to cause the rip in the first place. So my question is whether or not this is covered and should or shouldn't be replaced under warranty ?

Thanks in advance,
