Remote Park Heat

I have been thinking of adding remote park heat to my order HSE Dynamic, the price with a few choice options is already scaring me. I am always out early on frosty cold mornings, and the thought of clearing the garage out to keep the car in is worse. would I be content with the heated seats and heated front windscreen ? or is it worth the £1000 to have the car pre-heated. any thoughts ?? Idea Idea

get a BAS system remote heater controller, you get it with a remote control and also a GSM so with a message from anywhere in the world you can switch the FBH on to get the car warmed up Thumbs Up

i managed well enough on MY10 with heated seats and windscreen before I built my garage Thumbs Up

MY13 I have now came with timed climate as standard but having a garage found it a waste of time so decided to upgrade to remote as this will be more useful when not at home but been told £500+ now so not bothering Sad

GSM sounds even better but would depend on cost vs benefit for me - £1000 would be a deal breaker Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

If you can afford it, go for it. Being able to tell your car to warm itself while you have breakfast sounds like a jolly nice thing to have. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

MW - So you have a new RRS HSE with timed climate as standard? I'm waiting for a call back from LR as my AB doesn't have it...! I mailed the CEO of LR this morning and received an e mail by return and then a call from the another guy who has promised to find out what the score is.
Also, could you have a look and see if you know where the aux heater is located? I've had a look but I'm not sure!

I have a Black Edition with timed climate - was advised it needed a remote and activation (£150) but now been told it also needs antenna and receiver (£500+) so day wasted and 100 mile trip Evil or Very Mad

I am told the price quoted was for an AutoBio (antenna/receiver already fitted?) so you may be lucky Confused

Then again unless a member on here confirms any of this I remain sceptical on anything said by LR or its representatives Whistle

Aux heater is O/S behind headlamp and has a small exhaust down behind bumper I believe Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

It's amazing, the best option i specked to be honest, use it every time i drive this time of year.

I don't think i could have a car without it now.. well worth the £1000 in my opinion.

Hi Muddy, can't see why your would be any different to mine, parts are less than £200 and activate is about £50 if its not already done. Speak to Yeovil landrover parts, they were very helpful MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys

Auxiliary /pre heater

Hi
Just bought a 12 plate HSE lux
No sign of a timed heating system on the dash or a key fob type switch
But previous owners paper work states it was in the dealers for excessive smoke from fuel burning heater

Do you think I'm just missing the fob ?

Hi Spark and welcome.

If yours is a Deisel then you will have a FBH fitted. To get remote operation you will need an aerial, a receiver and a remote fob. Fob is £25 eBay, other bits are available from Yeovil Landrover for about £180 ish and activation of the software will be about £50. Then you will be up and running 😃 MY16 AUTOBIOGRAPHY Indus silver with some toys
