I have clearly found a fan in you MSE! haha

Got to say criticism of the interior as "Poor" and "Chavy" is somewhat unfounded. The craftsmanship is second to none and i'll welcome any inspection. The Quilting, as someone mentioned before is the very same as the Bentley Mulliner not the "Chavy" Continental GT (As Clarkeson would say…) And it's colour coded cream, not white… to match the standard headlining colour.
The aesthetics of the bodykit ARE a matter of taste while i will point out "Those hideous arch extensions" are derived from the Disco 4 (Which shares an awful lot of "lines" as the Sport).

I will point out that these arches are more about function than form. This is going to be a very powerful RRS. To put that power down I'm going for 11.5j. Law dictates that i will need to have my wheels within the arch. If i was running 8j with spacers on a diesel V6 you could argue that it was a pointless fashion statement, but I'm not.

You can not argue that even a supercharged V8 Sport is a pretty slow unit. Ive driven Cayenne Turbos and worked on a couple of 600bhp Cayennes. There really is little comparison in performance between a Turbo and a V8 SC. I aim to take this RRS to 500+bhp.

The "stupid front skirt that only serves the purpose of making the car pointless" is simply to carry on those lines you were speaking about and protect any further cooling systems that may need to be added from 150mph stones! It also directs airflow to cool front brakes.

The Wheels… We sell a lot of wheels to Lamborghini and Ferrari owners because they are a VERY strong forged Titanium Alloy. The split rim aggressive concave will sell well. In practice they will of course be smaller than the render shows and very few customers will want 11.5js… even fewer will have the power to warrant them.

Did anyone really buy a RRS for its "off road capability"? Of your car history every one of your previous vehicles would be better off road than your RRS. If i want to drive over a mountain i would have bought a defender, If i wanted to drive over a mountain while watching a DVD id have bought a Disco 4. I bought a Sport to go fast in a straight line in relative comfort. I am now modifying it to get what i actually wanted.

Speed humps… Not only with my wider track i will pass over most of them in London without them even flirting with the inner edge of my tires i do still have 3 hight settings on my suspension. (That's 1 more than the LP640 we have in at the moment for a twin turbo conversion).

Im pretty sure touring won't really be a problem either… apart from the frequent stops at the petrol station as i average 1mpg!

This vehicle wasn't designed by Ali G in the dark with a crayon, It was designed with a function, to go fast, as if perhaps, it was a Sportier version of a Range Rover.

While not everyone will be a fan, and i understand that, BESPOKE, ,KAHN, ONYX, REVERE, OVERFINCH cars all change hands for at least 20k over the price of a stock RRS and none of those Vehicles have half of the options that this one does. A 2011 ADAIR X6 sold last week for 35k an hour after being posted on a dealer website.

I really like the vehicle we are building a lot and i will bring it and let you all pick over it any time you lot want to get together.

LR already did this with the later supercharged motor. I know nitrous is a favoured way of providing lots of power relatively easily, but wouldn't a 5.0 S/C motor in it have been more in keeping with the spirit of the luxury bruiser?

Yes, I bought mine for its combination of off road ability and luxury comfort (it is as capable off road as the Disco and in some situations it's actually better than the Defender - rock crawl for example). I didn't go for the full Range Rover because I wanted something that wasn't as wallowy on road as the FFRR. There aren't many vehicles that can be happily taken seriously off road and then do a long high speed drive up the motorway for several hours and deliver you in both situations feeling at ease and relaxed. Unlike many, I do take mine off road. I know there are others hereabouts who do likewise.

My own view of modified RRSs is that generally I don't like them - I can't say I have seen any example that hasn't made me think "yuck, no thanks". I don't even see the point of the Autobiography/HST bodykits produced by LR as they reduced the vehicle's ability off road. I note that the new Sport has avoided this mistake by not having silly chin spoilers on them in Autobiography editions.

I'm impressed that you are prepared to put so much time and money in to your project and applaud you for that. I don't however, like the results of your efforts. But that's the great thing about living in a "free country" - we're allowed an opinion even if it is different to other people's view. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

As somebody who has spent a lot of time & hard earned cash on transforming an older RRS to something that suits my taste - I admire the work & effort that's going into your project - give me unlimited funds & resources - where would I stop ? I would buy a brand new 14MY Sport & leave it the way I found it Wink 16MY Estoril Blue SVR.............

Really interested in seeing how this turns out.

I'm well into modding, but this is on another level! Fair play to you and I'm really looking forward to reading your build thread!

As someone may have mentioned, why not go for a 2010> dash to finish it off? After all the work you are doing I think the old dash will really date it.

I run on 22s and did so on my last model also. I also have 20s running AT tyres for when I know I may need them.

I'm never going to go mad off roading like some of my friends do, but to know I can is enough for me!

I'm a soft roader at best, and not ashamed of that. I can't afford to slide a £70k motor into a ditch. On a £1k off roader you wouldn't mind so much MY10 HSE 3.0 TDV6 : Santorini Black : Ebony Interior w/Anigre wood : Privacy Glass (total) : Sunroof : Sidesteps : Hybrid TV : Detachable Tow Kit : Spare Wheel Cover : 22" Dished Supersports

Fair play to you Bow down . Takes some big conkers to tackle a project like this. If it looks half a cool as the rendering then it will be fab. When i got my HST i did some research and found that many slagged off the HST styling for being too "chavvy" but i have had nothing but positive comments from all that have seen it Confused (maybe those that don't like it ,decide to keep their opinions quiet when they are face to face with me Ner Ner )
