United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Autobiography Stornoway Grey
Changing wheel size

I would be interested in hearing peoples views concerning this.

I have recently changed my 22's to 19's for winter and to coincide with the change the RRS in many cases won't change gear from say 4th to 5th when moving faster. I've had cases when I've been almost redlining and it still won't change gear by itself. It is almost like it is sport mode and therefore wants to rev higher before changing gear.

My local dealer informs me that the vehicle now needs calibrating to take account of the smaller wheels. I was informed that you can select the wheel size when setting the vehicle up electronically!!

I understand that the speedo reading is now different (more error than with the 22's) but I wouldn't have thought that the vehicle requires this so called recalibration.

Oh and there would naturally be a charge for the recalibration.

I used to swap my 22's to 19's in winter but never experienced the problem you are having. Mine vehicle was a 2006 model but my profile of tyre was 55 and not the usual 50 profile that most seem to go with when changing over to winter tyres. My speedo was more accurate with the 22's too. Confused

Dont know what everyone else thinks but how about trying a hard reset and see if that cures it - assume your using 255/50 19 tyres recommended Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

There is an option in the car configuration settings to change wheel size you would need someone with fault mate or similar equipment Thumbs Up

Just a thought but did you try putting the 22's back on and seeing if the issue remains.

Hassle I know but may highlight if it is the wheels or not. TDV8 RRS HST in Java - Gone
