Eventually the RRS will have to go but I'll be keeping it for a few years yet. So - will be looking for something a bit smaller, faster and more economical but still with 4x4 capabilities and of course that all important prestige image and if possible rock solid reliability.

Up until now there wasn't anything that looked up to the job.

Before everybody tells me - 'oh its just a Q5' read the reviews and think again. Apparently Porsche have used the next generation Q5 as a base but the running gear is all Porsche.

I see BMW are producing the X drive on the 3 series - a 3 series Touring with 4x4 could be a useful tool. An off-roader it won't be but a fun car it might be

Agree Paddi, I think the Macan looks a nice car.

Prefer RR Vouge S/C but they don't do Orange !

Paddi sounds like a good choice i had a day last week with the cayenne diesel s half off road driving and half on road and it was mighty impressive had standard tyres and 21" wheels but never missed a beat on off road course and on road sounded and performed fantastic sure the macan will be a good choice  2016 bmw x5 40d m-sport space grey

Agreed, the Macan looks great, but from seeing the launch photos, it looks about the size of a ford focus! although it shares the Q5 platform, it seems to sit a lot lower.
