Really I thought it was the usual lightweight reporting you often come across.

Quite clear it spent a day on a "jolly" and cut and pasted parts of the press release?

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

last sentence:
"But if the All-New Sport’s £51,500 entry price still remains beyond your reach, you can rest assured that the pre‑owned sector will doubtless soon be inundated with examples of its less accomplished, pimp-mobile forerunner – and going very cheaply indeed."

such a pompous statement ! In fact a very pompous article. I wouldn't buy the "all-new" model simply because I think the "less accomplished" model is far, far nicer. And £51,500 is well, well within my reach ! Recently bought a 2007 RRS HSE TDV6 for a Pimp-My-Ride-Project.
DONE: Meduza front bumper, AB rear bumper, AB tailpipes, calipers repainted, rear upper tailgate upgrade, side steps, AB front grille, AB side vents, rear LED lights, clear side repeaters, integrated daytime running lights, LED headlights.
TO DO: color code sills and pillars.

It reads like someone who knows nothing about the Sport, old or new, to be honest.

I've driven my "less accomplished pimp-mobile" around Eastnor and waded through those same water filled trenches and I have to say it never missed a beat. But then how many of the new RRS will ever see a muddy track, never mind 2 feet or more of muddy water? Oh yes, and I pulled a "down-to-earth and versatile Land Rover Discovery" out of some slimy stuff that I'd just managed to drive through too.

See, this is the problem with the bling brigade - everyone now thinks that the Sport is a useless tart's SUV rather than the practical off roader that it is. Damn you all! Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Australia 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

Rubbish article but, I can't help thinking that the new RRS will start to make the old RRS look very dated soon, no matter that its a great car. The passion for (in my opinion) tasteless mods as some of these cars get older and percolate the lower market will hasten the process. All Marques are the same when a new model comes out but incessant modding cheapens the brand as the model ages. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2009 Buckingham Blue RRS 2.7 TDV6
Gone - 2010 Alaska White RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Gone - 2017 Chawton White RRS 5.0 V8 Supercharged
Current - 2010 Java Black RRS 5.0 V8 Aspirated
Current- 2024 RRS P400 SE Dynamic

Australia 2013 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Ipanema Sand

Had the new RRS Black on Moreton Island last weekend. It performed faultlessly drove past stuck Toyota Prado's which amazed them. At least in Aussie I don't see too many tarted up/pimped RRS. They are not common most seem to have left them alone. And yes they are practical good drives. I looked at the new sport, love it but cannot justify the extra 40K they want for a similar spec car as the one we are in now. SWMBO owns this car I get to drive occasionally Smile
