It's back

I picked up my smashed up RRS today - only 3 1/2 months since the crash. I must say that they repaired it well and I'm driving with a huge smile again! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

VA, what did you do to smash up your new RRS? I know your pain I waited 6 months for delivery from order for a new Honda S2000 and promptly wrapped it around a tree. I got it written off and went out and got another one!

I was stationary waiting to pull out of my drive. My bonnet was pretruding into the road. The visibility to my right is very limited and whilst waiting to see if I could hear a car coming I was hit by a Mercedes van. In my opinion the driver was exceeding the speed limit but definitely driving without due care and attention. Not only was the drivers side badly damaged , due to the force of the hit I was spun around 90 degrees and demolished some large brick & metal gates causing further damage to the passengers side. You might want to see the pictures in my gallery. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

VA, I saw the pics but couldn't work out what happened. Really sorry that your new steed was damaged. Are you going to keep it or chop it in and get a new one again?

The repair shop did an excellent job and I am probably keeping it. Thanks for the words. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

VA,

Have you noticed if it drives completely normally still? The only reason I ask (and I am not trying to sow seeds of doubt in your mind) is that when a car has had a decent smash and it's rebuilt, sometimes things are just never 'right' again. I had a Lexus which I did my best to destroy under a motorway central barrier, however the insurance company insisted it was rebuilt. (The traffic plod who wrenched it out said it would be a right off)

I never felt the same about the car again and there was definitely 'something of the night' with regards to its handling. Shocked

I really hope yours is A1-OK and it's fine etc. L319 D4 HSE

Thanks for your concern but I believe the car is actually better than before. I have driven a friends RRS and I can honestly say the ride is better. On the motorway it drives completely straight, no drift. Everything works and she looks perfect. The bodyshop did say that the repair was actually fairly easy and everything bolted on without having to readjust anything (they would say that anyway) Fingers crossed all is fine but I will keep my eyes and ears open. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
