IIDTool

I joined this fantastic forum when I got my first RRS. I learnt very quickly that the first must have is an IIDTool. I went to Gap Diagnostics web site and learnt that Britpart was the exclusive distributor for this valuable tool. I went to britparts web site and enquired about price and availability, I received an automated email advising me that a "Local" distributor for Britpart would contact me, all good. Two weeks later and no one had contacted me, so back to Britparts web site and make the same inquiry, this time in the area provided to add extra parts, I explained that this was the second time I had inquired about this tool and that no "Local" dealer had contacted me. The response was the same automated email that I received two weeks earlier. I gave it another week, with no contact. I then went back to Gap Diagnostics web site and sent them an email explaining my position and the lack of response from Britpart and their local distributor, I asked if I could buy the tool direct from them.
Another week has past and still no contact from Britpart, Gap Diagnostics or their local distributor. I'm starting to wonder if I really did read all about IIDTools or if it was just a dream and am now considering buying a Hawkeye Diagnostic tool.
Does the Hawkeye have the same functionality as an iidtool or does it do more?
Where has everyone else purchased their IIDTools?
Is all this worth the effort or should I just buy lowering links and an OBD 2 tool that displays on a smart phone and forget about the rest.
Thank You in advance for your help. RRS '05 4.4 Bonatti Gray Black Leather

Well I am talking to GAP directly as I am participating in the Beta test of the tool for the 2010+ RRS (mines 2012).

They respond to emails within the same day.

Can't speak for Britpart. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

hello Dingoz
The IIDTool is well worth a bit of extra legwork to get, most who have it on here, got it direct from gap and were involved in the beta testing, unfortunately that is now not available, the tool is still in development and still has new features to come. so just search for one on the internet

I appreciate these are in the uk, but they are available globally, so may be worth paying slightly more P&P and possibly purchase from america or UK

Hi Dingoz,
Sorry! We generally don't miss any mails - please fwd. your mail acct. info via mail to support@ then gap-diagnostic.com address so I can check and see what happened. We are getting many inquires lately so maybe yours slipped through the cracks. Again: sorry if this is the case. Please also fwd. your automated replies from Britpart to the same address so I can follow up here as well.

I am not sure what the present situation is in Australia, but several months ago it was considerably less expensive to order an IIDTool from the UK - the one address that shepp provided (thanks shepp!) has excellent prices. Shipping is not to much as the IIDTool is very small and light.

If you would like to purchase locally, though, I will make sure we get you a Britpart reseller.

Regards,
Steve

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Lux Orkney Grey

! see many are using a Beta version on 2012 cars.

I'm keen to know when (if not already) the fully functioning unit compatible with a 2012 (2013MY) SDV6 HSE Lux will be released.

As I'm not really into using an i_Phone for input and display can it connect and be controlled with a normal laptop via Bluetooth and/or USB?

The RRSport 2010> IIDTool is out of beta (has been for a while - this thread is a year old Razz ).

For a functionality list, please check here http://gap-diagnostic.com/products/iidtool.html
Scroll down and enter your vehicle and model year. Additional sub menus showing specific functions such as car configuration changes, live values, or output controls can be opened by clicking the down arrows in the various boxes in the chart.

The normal mode of control is to use the vehicles integrated controls/displays to interface with the IIDTool (hence the name: Integrated Interface Diagnostic Tool) so you actually need nothing else. The IIDTool BT will interface with an iPhone/iPad/Android phone or tablet using 4th gen bluetooth. A PC/Mac controller app via USB will be avail as of the first quarter 2014, but the iPad/tablet app will likely retain more advanced features (data logging w/graphical dispay, shortcuts to service routines, etc).

Cheers,
Steve
