New Zealand 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Santorini Black
Continental Tyres

Hi

Has anybody used the Continental ContiSportContact 5 XL Tyres. Seem to have a few good reviews but just wondered if anyone had personal experience of them. Looking for a set of summer tyres and thought it might be a bit cheaper to buy a set now rather than waiting till next summertime, as have just bought a set of new Overfinch rims to fit them to. Have been quoted £1200.00 for five which seems reasonable for a premium tyre. Just wondered if they are any good.

Cheers
Col

Worth reading the searches above - feathering of edge has been a big problem but not sure if they have dealt with this on newer tyres Confused Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

I've got 20,000 miles out of my Contis. Putting on Pirelli Scorpion Asymetricos on next week, £220 a corner from Land Rover dealer (price match). Goodbye Contis - good tyre, especially in the dry, but I don't like how they wear. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

Loving my Pirelli Scorpion Asymetricos... better ride, better steering at parking speeds. Not as sport car-like grippy as the Conti's in the dry, perhaps, but a better every day tyre in my opinion. I expect to get these again. And I will never get Contis again, full stop. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Agreed first thing I noticed when I went from conti to pirelli was improved ride Bow down

Second thing I noticed was hitting puddles no longer broke my wrist as the wheels tried to turn left Thumbs Up

I am currently on 19" winter contis though due to high ratings on reviews and the rrs is soaking up the bumps like a dream Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Just bought a couple of sets of 20" Supersports rims from Overfinch and decided I would give the Conti's a try and have fitted a set of Cross Contact Winter Tyres on one set and Contact Sport 5 on the other for summer use, as I don't do very high mileage at the moment and the boy racer days have long gone just have to see how they wear and perform.

Cheers
