[Question] Warranty

Hey guys,

Im looking into investing a new range rover and i had a few questions about the Warranty for them.

Should i get Warranty from my main Land rover dealer?

Can i get warranty on a range rover which has partial service history?

Where is the best place/company to ask for Warranty?

Thanks Thanks,
Waldo

Personally I now only trust Land Rover warranty Bow down

https://landrover-extendedwarranty-extend-...-details-1

Give them a ring or email them and ask your questions Thumbs Up

I used warrantywise or warrantydirect in the past (can't remember which) because they were cheaper but when I made a claim the claim procedure was frustrating but ended up receiving 50% goodwill payment from LR as I had FLRSH and paid the rest myself as it wasn't worth the hassle claiming taking into account the excess Rolling Eyes

You can get quotes online to compare but until you claim it's unknown if they are worth the money - LR warranty get high praise on here Cool Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Still hoping for a S2 one day!

In my opinion, if you can get Land Rover's warranty then get it. This usually means buying from a LR dealer but you could buy one which has some part of the LR warranty remaining. If so, you can then just pay to renew the warranty at the appropriate time. Bear in mind that LR's warranty has age/mileage limits so buying this way will prevent you from getting a lower price vehicle e.g. 2005-2007 examples. Some LR dealerships might have older example and then offer you their own warranty. You'd need to read the exclusions to make sure the important/expensive stuff is covered. You do have some consumer rights where you buy from a garage. These rights don't apply when you buy privately - once you've handed over the money you're on your own.

You will need to ask the warranty provider whether they will provide cover on a partial history. They may do so if you pay to have an assessment done by their preferred garage (in LR's case this will obviously be a LR dealership).

Warranty Direct are often mentioned hereabouts by people using / looking for a non-LR warranty. Use the search facility at the top of the forum's page to search for threads discussing warranties. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

LR do two types of warranty:

Approved - for vehicles up to 5 years old
Select - for over 5 years old.

How does the Select warranty for older vehicles compare to Warranty Direct or Warranty Wise ? Proud owner of a 2008 TDV8 HSE.....and an Audi A3 2.0T DSG Cab and a Porsche 911 Turbo (Mercedes W208 320 CLK and Mercedes W124 E220 Estate now gone)

2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HST Santorini Black

When I purchased my 08 TDV8 HST, it was a private buy. The seller put the car into stratestones for a L/R health check , this then enabled me to take out a L/R warranty.
Cheers
