New Guy - Questions

Hi guys, new to the forum here. I have been reading for a week or so and signed up yesterday. I have previously owned a couple of 4x4's both 3l petrol Mitsubishi Sport Elegance's but have been driving a saloon car for the past few years....Would like to try a RRS to get the best of both worlds regarding comfort with 4x4 capability.I don't have a huge budget so I want to be as sure as possible that I don't inherit someone else's 'problem child' and be left with massive repair bills. I do appreciate that buying a RSS with a mileage over the 100k mark is a risk, as it would be with most cars...I am just trying to cut the deck a little in my favour. With that in mind I am posting these images of a car I am looking at with the possibility of buying. Maybe a forum member has owned the car previously or has known someone who has and can set my mind at rest...or raise alarm bells. Also would like to know if £14k seems a fair price for the vehicle in question. It comes with a FULL LRSH.

England 2007 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zermatt Silver

Hi,

I've been looking for months - this one seems to be well priced to sell in my opinion.

Some of the 2005/2006 I've test driven have seemed quite tatty inside (interior), but I guess that goes with the age...

All the best,
Simon

Is it a 2.7tdV6? Maybe I've missed it scanning through the message? That one seems to be in good nick from the photos.

It's a tough one to call. I'm in NI here and the price of 4x4s seem to be somewhat cheaper here than across the water. I have a 2007 tdV8 for sale @ £16k (92k miles). Similar vehicles in England seem to be closer to the £18 / 19k mark.

If that one is a tdV8 at £14k, it would be worth a look IMO.

Good to see another Glasgow member on here. Thumbs Up

If the car is in good condition and has been well maintained, then it seems reasonably priced IMO.

Make sure the service history is up to date, making sure the belts were changed at the 7 year service. Also test every fuction of the car including raising/ lowering suspension a few times, PDC sensors all work, AirCon, no knocks from the suspension etc. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

It's a 2.7 TDV6, don't think the TDV8 was an option in 2006. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

@MXSRR Cheers mate!

@simonj007 Cheers Simon, I hear you mate on the "tatty" interior thing on some older cars......It's disappointing, travelling a distance to view what looked like a tidy car going by the online images....only to be disappointed upon viewing the actual car. Good luck with your search!

@ConorB it's a 2.7tdV6.

Thanks for the welcome JasM! Thumbs Up Taking your advice onboard mate. Going to have a serious look tomorrow morning and will checking all that you have mentioned here, particularly that belt change and when the last service was carried out. Is the suspension a known issue on RRS of this age and mileage?

Looks very tidy and unmolested, but at that age and mileage, you should have some money in the bank for repairs and maintenance, no matter how well maintained it is, stuff will just wear out. Gone - 2008 Stornoway Grey RRS 2.7 TDV6
