Early Reliability Thoughts

Hi guys,

Now that there are one or two rrs2s around, for those lucky current owners, how is reliability looking?

Looking forward to our November build...

Thanks

HaHa, no, I couldn't believe it myself, it was a fairly relaxed journey but included quite a few motorway miles at 70mph, only checked the.journey mpg a mile or so from home and was really surprised. My normal mpg is about 36 mixed town and rural. Overall I am really pleased with the performance and fuel efficiency, would love to get some other real world mpg from the other owners. MY 2014 HSE Dynamic

First MY14 re-call?

Well, it had to happen! Evil or Very Mad Car is booked into local dealer tomorrow for the first, so I believe, recall.

It seems that there may be problems with the battery cable which can rub and wear out the plastic coating, going in to have a clip put on/replaced. Not a big job I have been told, done whilst you wait, I have arrange a courtesy car though just in case Rolling Eyes

Has anyone else heard about this recall? I wonder if the recent issues with the F Types catching fire were caused by a similar issue?

I hope this only affects a small number of cars and no forum members have the same issue. MY 2014 HSE Dynamic

No problems so far although you can hear fuel sloshing around when tank half full in stop start traffic.

Hadn't heard of a recall?

Economy excellent - 46 mpg at 50mph, 34 mpg at fast motorway cruise

Plenty of low down grunt, overtakes well, runs out of puff at higher end of range as you'd expect. Nice soundtrack.

Handling/grip/lack of roll excellent despite not being a Dynamic.

I agree Leondrums, best to get these things sorted ASAP. Interesting that we both have the HSE Dynamic!

I dropped the car off this morning for the 40 mins job, as I said in previous post I had arranged for a courtesy car just in case it took a bit longer Very Happy just as well I did, had a call at 16.30 to tell me that the first recall had been completed (fitting of clip to stabilize the battery cable which is located next to the ARC pipe which contains highly flammable fluid?) the second recall of a cracked battery post requires parts which need to be ordered so car kept overnight Evil or Very Mad I have a New Disco 4 HSE, nice car but what a barge compared to the MY2014 RRS Whistle

I also asked them to look at the indicators, when they are on they have an irregular flashing, not sure how much of an issue this is, does anyone else have this? MY 2014 HSE Dynamic

Haven't heard of the second recall so shall double check tomorrow morning when my car is booked in. I've also asked for a courtesy car and expecting to leave the car overnight..

Alan, haven't experienced anything from the indicators - how did you find out? Were they irregular on the display too?? 2017 MY - Dynamic, same again!

Leon, the indicators are irregular both on the dash light and the sound, it's hard to explain, almost like a double flash every few seconds, possibly a relay, hopefully something simple. MY 2014 HSE Dynamic
