I was very close to purchasing the Coopers but the size available may have led to warranty problems, hence the grabber AT's.. So far I am quite happy with them, but off road use has been limited to the odd dirt road.

I'm going to go with a 20" and cooper for the spare (when I can find a single 20", they are hard to find), it is tight under the rear but the difference is only 18mm so would think the guys who have them on would be right.

I actually made a dowel 9mm in diameter and tried to run it around the spare to see if it would clear the entire wheel. It fouled up in one spot which may mean you could get a 45 profile tyre in albeit slightly off centre. I hope you are right and it does fit as that will change my thinking next time I purchase tyres.

I certainly did not wish to cast doubt at all. The radial difference between a 40 and 45 profile is 9mm and I tried to get a dowel of that diameter to freely fit in the gap between the spare and the wheel well. It fouled at one particular point which is what made me think I could not get that larger tyre in there.

Hi, is that pic taking north of Wiluna by any chance. Once worked in Perth and had a 2 week job with RFDS in Meeka, looks like somewhere we stopped to see rock art. BCP |
