Wow!!!

When I started looking into rrs I was going to get a cheap 2.7 for the wife (new to driving so didn't want to spend a lot to have to fix the bodywork all the time) to run about in through day, then I'd use it at weekends, nights when not in company car.

Then thought the 3.6 would be better as get a bit more performance, then I sat in the newer shape and liked the dash but thought is it worth the extra money. Went to dealer and a sales man tried to sell me a 13.5, 6k down £950 a month for two years then hand it back or buy it.

Next I'll be ordering a new one having sold as many organs as I can live without..

Thing is the more budget you have to harder the decision becomes!

Scotland 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

I was in the same position as you before I bought my RRS. At first I dismissed the idea of going for a pre-facelift RRS and wanted a facelift one, I even put one on order back in 2010 but cancelled shortly afterwards due to a new property purchase.

So with my tightened budget, I began looking at used Q7's, however they failed to impress me, and by luck the Audi salesman offered me a 2007 RRS which he had taken in as a trade in. I was so impressed with it and bought straight away.

Yes the Q7 is 'technically' a better vehicle but it just felt bland to me not sure why. I don't regret buying my oldish RRS, i just wish I had bought one sooner. 2014 L405 SDV8 RR Autobiography Cool

Yeah I have also looked at the q7 (and q5) as the 7 seats would come in handy sometimes but they are massive on the outside thenfeel small inside, i do like audi's styling but interiors don't do it for me.

So then looked at disco's, again for the 7 seats but the sport drives nicer. I've had the full fat so don't really want another one.

OAIM?

No Maw

The 1st 3.0L's (2010) were still called TDV6 and had the same 6 speed gearbox

The SDV6 was released for the 2012 car with the "dial" gear change and 8 speed box (and 10 more horses) RRS gone

Well been to look at a few today.

57 plate tdv8 and a 10 plate tdv6 with £10k difference between them.

I didn't have a drive as I had the little one with me but I do really like the interior of the facelift, the exterior changes don't really bother me as I'll be buying a black one so can't tell much difference. The led lights are nice but I could retrofit them to the earlier one.

I'd like to hope that the facelift one would be more reliable as that's my main priority really, I pull a tin tent about and the wife will be out in it so that's why it's important to me.

So I'm still stuck, I know some have suggested driving them to decide but I think I'd be pulled more towards the v8 then just because of how it sounds (I'd defiantly take some exhaust box's out) and the fact it's a v8!!

Fuel economy doesn't bother me, plus spending an extra 10k to get a few moe mpg doesn't make sense anyway.

Insurance is about the same, the road tax is still the same rip off price !!

It's such a tricky decision isn't it Daz. I can't make my mind up what to go for. Nice lower cost 2.7 and get it remapped or push to a 3.0tdv6, but then the tdv8 is in the middle price wise. Decisions decisions decisions Smile
