I have just acquired my first RRS, I wanted to get it serviced to be on the safe side (history is minimal despite 43k miles as previous owner lived somewhere remote).

I also have a slight front suspension knock over minor undulations (I read that is common already).

The car hasn't seen a main dealers since its first service, so reading here tonight I guess I need some software updates too?

Looking for somewhere in the Manchester, Glossop or Stockport area that can do it properly; but preferably not a stealership.

Is there anywhere members recommend please?

Just delving in the archives, I found mention of Landranger in Stockport, with a few positive comments.

Are people still happy with them?

I went to talk to them first, looks like my kind of place, the chap seemed to know his eggs. The stuff in the workshop looked more expensive than mine.

For others: If you are looking for a dealership experience with polished floors, coffee machines and leggy secretaries, etc. This isn't it. This is the sort of no frills place I always favour; chaps who know their stuff in a place that suits the purpose.

Just for completeness, and credit where credit is due, etc......

Landranger has just done the service, squeaky brakes, aircon gassed, ARB bushes and a few bits. Its had a proper coat of looking at and I now know what my future medium term jobs will be as I got the inspection sheet as well.

Happy with what they did, some clunks and squeaks gone, price probably about right (didn't feel as if I had had my pants pulled down anyway).

Looks like this is my local place for routine service stuff now thanks to the forum here.
