Hope The RRS Wasn't Too Badly Damaged

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-24361195

Have to say that based on the footage, the driver deserved to be chased down...

Can't say i agree with your deserved to be chased down comment.

He fled to protect himself and his family from a 200 strong mob of angry bikers, from what ever went on prior to the video starting, which obviously isn't shown, as this would put the bikers into bad light

Who deserves to be chased down and beaten to a pulp for a biker break test him and been knocked off, if anyone, from that moment the biker instigated the reason the flee to safety, i think he was quite restrained, no weaving in and out been aggressive when he didn't have too, only when the bikers tried to get into his car

@npinks

Having reviewed the whole video now, not just the bbc cut, I am inclined to agree and the video doesn't show us what prompted him to drive off at speed in the first place.

He should also use the auto-lock feature on his doors in future

I understand they smashed the windows to get him out of the car so presume he used the auto lock feature Confused

Looking at the video they used helmets - must have taken some effort to break the laminated glass Sad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

New York RRS vs Bikies

I pity the driver of the RRS in New York in that recent incident. Seems like he didn't have auto locking on his doors activated. Would have been a very scary situation. Saw the car was quite capable of driving over motorbikes though that wouldn't be my first choice for testing off road capability. Shocked

i will say this as a biker and car owner, the blame of the chap being paralysed lies fair and square at the feet of the k Censored b brake testing in front - it was never going to end well, he in fact stayed upright and unharmed i think.
if in that situation everyone would do the same, you either open the door and take a beating from an angry mob or drive the heck out of there!

cheers
