Help! Braking Issue...

I have an issue with the brakes on my MY05 RRS. When slowly braking when coming up to a junction - the brakes actually stop working. It initially brakes as usual but soon after it just doesnt stop Shocked

The brake pedal actually goes hard, similar to when you pump the brakes when the vehicle is switched off. I have contacted LR and there is no outstanding recalls on the vehicle as I believe the was a recall relating to the brake vacuum system.

Anybody care to add some thoughts on this?

There is/was a recall for this, though not always carried out correctly Rolling Eyes

Sounds like you need a new brake servo. Expect to pay around £130 for the part, and a couple of hours labour to fit Thumbs Up

Thanks for the advice mate.

I dropped it off earlier and the mechanic advised that he found oil in the brake servo. I know for certain the ABS pump was replaced a few weeks ago so im not sure if this could cause the oil in the servo

He advised that he could clean it out and that if it comes back then I will definitely need to replace the brake servo. Not sure if I want to find out if it will come back or not Shocked
Any thoughts?

It needs a servo now.

Clearing out the oil will make no difference, as the damage has already been done. At least it won't re-occur as the vacuum pump recall has been done before
