Since I took this photo I've treated myself to a Piranha G3 but not had much use out of it since the eldest went to Uni and my other 2 would rather play Xbox Rolling Eyes

I thought from your spacing it was a mirror dinghy or something Laughing

I am now looking to carry kayaks, bike and roof box but not all at the same time - used to have a FL1 for this but down to 1 vehicle now Sad

It's a persecution scooter, I'm thinking about getting a trailer as it's ok putting it on the roof when the mrs is there to give me a hand but on my own, the roofs to high even in access, there are some good ones about but they all seem to be around the £1000 mark.. 2008 G4 RRSport TDV8 current

I know what you mean - I stand on tyre to do rear strap and door cill/plates to do front but makes a mess. Lifting also kills my back but as I never kayak solo for safety always 2 for lifting - when I can get anyone to join me Rolling Eyes

We tried using my sons punto because its easier to load but it struggled with the weight Rolling Eyes

The white kayaks are ancient perception mirages - given them to my sons but they have no interest - the red is my daughters old piranha Thumbs Up

Going back to cycling until I can find a like minded kayaker before I succumb to middle aged spread Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

ive got those whisper bars mate and there sop on and litrally take 10 min to fit and take off and thats pottering not rushing . they are very very quite to.

i like them as think the rails spoil the look of the HST and with these i just pop them off.

id say only downside is your at a set distance apart unlike the rooof fails wich you can move in for a smaller load. but seen as i only ever have bike ,kayak or ladders on roof this dont really bother me

theres some pics of them on my car in my gallery.

oh and if you do get dont forget that the grommets on your roof screw in/out and not push/pull ones as i found out the hard way hahah

Chilly - just to check, I have Whispbars also purchased for the RRS (2010) and had initially thought you needed original LR roof rails onto which the bars fitted. However, the fitting instructions here

http://www.roofbox.co.uk/fitting/whispbar/PRK436.pdf

...would indicate I dont need additional rails and that the Whispbars simply screw into the guttering already on the car roof. This mirrors your experience, but would really appreciate any further confirmation/thoughts. Maserati MC Stradale 2016
