Oooh, bike pics Thumbs Up

Track pump is a a good shout. Look on wiggle, they have one for under £20 Wink I thinks it's by lifeline and very good for the money. Has both Presta and Schrader valve attachments too.

I've gone down the CO2 route for in the fly inflation/repairs........a very worthwhile investment too Cool

Muddy - your wife was right to make you get the lid, don't ride without it Wink

I would if I had some air in the tyres Big Cry

Censored all instructions with it either - tyres say max 110 psi so what should I put in if I can get an adapter tomorrow Confused

Also discovered I can't get my trainers in the pedal clips and No1 son says I need bike shoes - another £70-90 - when did riding a bike become so complicated - should of bought another MTB Rolling Eyes Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

100psi in each should be fine.
If you're bored waiting for a valve adaptor, you can always check the recommended pressures according to loading & tyre size here.

Ditch the pedal clips - no need for them right now.
You can always get shoes, cleats & clip less pedals to match later on. I have hybrid pedals on one of my bikes that are flat one side for normal shoes, clipped the other for cleated shoes.

Tyre was punctured when assembled but turns out derailleur was bent too so bike swapped for display model with some scratches because they only had that left but at least it works Rolling Eyes

.

Should we be worried that he hasn't checked in yet? Walking 20 miles home after finding mid-ride that the steerer wasn't tightened?

Wink

Hope you enjoy it and that they at least gave you a pump by way of consolation/compensation. Punctured and a bent derailleur doesn't sound too dissimilar from some of the stories one reads about Halfords & their bike set-up.

I don't want lycra but I need something - the amount of liquid I was losing yesterday I would need a row of bottles and a straw Laughing

Number 1 son now tells me front wheel is buckled too - so looks like another trip to Halfrauds Rolling Eyes

Get some MTB gear muddy Wink , it's lycra based, but looks normal Laughing , so baggy shorts etc and will help wick the sweat away keep you warm or stop you overheating Wink

It's a shame you've had a few problems with the bike and very annoying that they don't do thorough checks on them before they let them go......but that said, I guess the sales guy was barely shaving and was clock watching until it was time to knock off Rolling Eyes

Once you get used to brake shifters, you'll wonder how you managed without them, they are so much easier to operate 'riding on the hoods' (where your thumb and index finger sit either side of the bit that sticks up). Thumbs Up

If you have an iPhone, its worth downloading some sort of app to track how you're doing. The best motivator is trying the beat the last time Wink
Mapmyride is good, or Strava, but Strava can be a little disheartening at first when you realise the times other people are doing.....so I'd go with mapmyride. Laughing ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Not a penny of compensation or apology for the inconvenience, etc - I guess they think the £350 discount is enough - they were not happy at the local Halfrauds because I bought it at another store not theirs Rolling Eyes

Mapmyride installed now Thumbs Up

Will look at MTB gear for now until my body matches the bike Laughing

I'm confused - why bother using inner tubes - might as well be a solid tyre for all the good it does Confused

Need to open a secret bank account now so SWMBO doesn't know how much all the "extras" are costing or her next visit to Mulberry or Russell & Bromley is going to be a problem Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
