I thought I'd treat myself to another Sport - so I checked out Land Rover's web site for cars about 12 months old. There was about 6 2012 MY cars in Grey with Ivory; geographically quite close.

Last Thursday I emailed the 3 closest with three questions; a request for their car's actual spec. (cause the web only uses LR's standard example), number of owners and if they had a tow-bar fitted. Only one replied but the sales guy who telephoned didn't have any answers to the 3 questions and said he'd come back to me, but hasn't

I emailed next 3 on my list; again one answered by phone. Again no answers to 3 questions. We eventually got to talking a price to change on Friday.

Being busy today I sent another email with a few more queries - no reply. When I rang this afternoon the same sales guy had still not got the car's details. I said I'd call back in a couple of hours.

When I called back he hadn't any answers but then I asked why and he said he'd had another customer in and had now taken a deposit !

I guess they're all making too much money to want my £45K or so

Is there a professional dealer out there who want to sell a car?

All I would say is that used cars are getting snapped up pretty quickly, therefore it may be worth popping in to your local dealers to sit down and have a coffee with them.
