I've searched for an hour but not found the answer so I thought I'd ask. Is there a way of testing to see if my FBH is still working /activated or switched on on my 2007 hse before the bad weather sets in. I know wifey has driven it around with the fuel light on and after 4 starts/strikes you are out. So is there an easy way to check or not. I think the only way is to use a test device e.g. IIDTool, Faultmate or fit the BAS remote system which allows priming of the system etc. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

There's no "easy" way, all require a tool of some kind.

Either a LR diagnostic system/tool as above or the Webasto ThermoTest software and an OBD adapter. Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

I guess that since it works of the ambient temperature being 3C (I think) or less, you could try covering the temperature sensor with ice !

Do it before starting the car as the engine must be cold.

Get a tin of freeze it spray and spray the Ambient temp probe this should fire it up.. failing that remove the ambient probe and place in freezer for 20 mins and then quickly replace it and it should fire up, if it does not then you have a locked out FBH that needs resetting to work fully again.
