United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Orkney Grey
2012 RRS SE TDV6 3.0 8 Speed

Hi All,

I'm about to agree to purchase the above car. I will keep my defender for the rough stuff.

The spec is an SE and many items are deleted like DVD player and sat nav. Although it's an early adopter of the 8 speed box and the de-tuned version of the SDV6; this means a lower VED band.

Would this be a better purchase than a slightly older but higher spec 2.7 TDV6 6 speed ?

Cheers
Sean

Yes. Thumbs Up But if you like your toys try and stretch your budget for the HSE model. Having said that, if your used to a defender, then i'm sure you won't miss the toys anyway. Some of the SE's hold their money better than an HSE. Shocked But i'm sure you have done your homework. Wink

If the only items missing are DVD and sat nav then it's probably a good call. The 3.0 is a better engine than the 2.7.

The sat nav isn't the best in the world anyway - I use a sat nav programme (Co Pilot) on my smartphone with a screen mount. It's up to date and has a good traffic system too. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Agree with the above, but it's worth bearing mind that the MY12 Sat Nav was step up from the previous models and is a lot better and closer to something like a TomTom or Garmin.

At the end of the day, if the price is right for the spec, then go for it Smile ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
